Since I’m working on a complete redesign of my corporate website right now, I spend a fair amount of time browsing over some of the web showcase sites for inspiration. I stumbled on one that caters to the blog-only crowd, called Lovely Blogs, run by college student Ben Bleikamp.

Lovely Blogs is a design showcase, similar to Stylegala or CSS Beauty. Unlike those two sites, the focus is 100% on blogs. Along with showcasing the best looking blogs online there will be articles teaching people how to make their blogs look lovelier – from customizing a template to using a editing a plug in to match your site.

Hopefully, we’ll see a little less overlap of the same sites on this one. Hopefully.

Grist and Greenloop: eco news and style

grist magazineSomething really cool just happened to me. A few weeks ago I signed up for Grist Magazine’s newsletter, Daily Grist, which is a snarky, clever look at the current environmental headlines. When I signed up, I guess it made me eligible for a $250 gift certificate from the swanky, eco-tailer Greenloop. I won. Can you believe it? I won. And I just finished my little shopping spree and am patiently awaiting my very hip loot.

Social bookmarking for the product and shopping obsessed.

Now that I no longer have the dough to shop-at-will, I still have an eye for style (bummer when your “eye” doesn’t match your pocketbook). At first I didn’t get the whole idea behind Stylehive, but I think I do now. I can’t help it. I just love stuff. I’ll never make a good Buddhist

Marketing to Women: Can I get this gadget in pink?

Can I get this gadget in pink?

Does offering a product in pink make it attractive and user friendly for women? I, personally, am a big fan of pink (I’ve learned to embrace my girlie side), but I’m a bigger fan of usability. What do you think?

Free jewelry? No, way…really?

I hate spam (like everyone) and I don’t believe all the free crap that’s touted on the Internet. But I did run into what looks like a cool offer for free (you pay shipping) silver jewelry on I like jewelry and I really like free jewelry. I ordered 3 things so far and I’ll let you know what they’re like when I get them.
